Push Notification Disclosure
Last updated: March 15, 2026
This Push Notification Disclosure ("Disclosure") describes how Skode Technologies ("Skode," "we," "us," or "our") uses push notifications within the Skode CRM and Skode Flow platforms ("Services"), how we obtain your consent, what data we collect, and how you can manage your notification preferences.
1. What Push Notifications We Send
Skode may send push notifications to your browser or mobile device to keep you informed about activity in your account. Push notifications may include:
- System Alerts: Security notifications, maintenance announcements, service status updates, and account security alerts (e.g., login from a new device, password changes).
- Activity Notifications: New lead assignments, deal stage changes, task reminders, invoice payments received, new contact form submissions, and team mentions.
- Messaging Notifications: New incoming messages on WhatsApp, SMS, or other connected channels via Skode Flow.
- Product Updates: New feature announcements, platform updates, and tips for using Skode more effectively.
- Marketing Notifications: Promotional offers, webinar invitations, content recommendations, and event announcements (only with explicit marketing consent).
2. How We Obtain Consent
We obtain consent for push notifications through the following mechanisms:
2.1 Browser Push Notifications (Web)
When you visit the Skode platform in a supported web browser, you may be presented with a browser permission prompt asking whether you would like to receive push notifications. This is the standard browser notification permission dialog controlled by your browser. You must actively click "Allow" to receive browser push notifications. Clicking "Block" or dismissing the prompt means you will not receive browser push notifications.
We will not repeatedly prompt you to enable push notifications if you have previously declined. You may change your preference at any time through your browser settings.
2.2 In-App Notifications
In-app notifications (displayed within the Skode platform while you are logged in) are enabled by default as part of the platform experience. These include activity feeds, task reminders, and system messages. You can configure which in-app notifications you receive through your notification settings.
2.3 Mobile Push Notifications
If Skode offers a mobile application, push notification consent is obtained through the operating system's standard permission dialog. On iOS, you must explicitly allow notifications when prompted. On Android, notifications may be enabled by default but can be disabled through system settings.
3. Types of Notifications
3.1 System Alerts
System alerts are considered essential service communications and are sent to all users with push notifications enabled. These include security alerts, scheduled maintenance notices, and critical account notifications. System alerts cannot be individually disabled while push notifications are enabled, as they are necessary for the secure operation of your account.
3.2 Product Updates
Product update notifications inform you about new features, improvements, and platform changes. These can be enabled or disabled separately in your notification preferences.
3.3 Marketing Notifications
Marketing notifications (promotional offers, event invitations, content recommendations) are only sent with your explicit consent. Marketing push notifications are disabled by default and must be explicitly opted into through your notification settings. You may opt out of marketing notifications at any time without affecting other notification types.
4. Frequency
The frequency of push notifications depends on the type and your activity within the platform:
- System Alerts: Sent only when relevant (e.g., security events, maintenance). Typically infrequent — a few per month at most.
- Activity Notifications: Frequency depends on your account activity (lead assignments, deal updates, messages received). You can configure which activities trigger notifications.
- Product Updates: Typically 1 to 4 per month.
- Marketing Notifications: No more than 2 per week. You may receive fewer depending on available promotions and content.
We use intelligent notification batching to group related notifications and reduce interruptions. You can configure quiet hours during which non-urgent notifications are held and delivered later.
5. How to Opt Out
You can opt out of push notifications at any time using any of the following methods:
5.1 Browser Settings
To disable browser push notifications, open your browser settings, navigate to the notifications or site permissions section, find Skode (app.skodeai.com or skodeai.com) in the list, and change the permission to "Block" or remove it. The exact steps vary by browser:
- Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Site Settings, Notifications.
- Firefox: Settings, Privacy and Security, Permissions, Notifications.
- Safari: Preferences, Websites, Notifications.
- Edge: Settings, Cookies and site permissions, Notifications.
5.2 In-App Settings
Navigate to Settings, then Notifications within the Skode platform. From there, you can enable or disable specific notification categories, set quiet hours, and manage notification channels (browser push, email, in-app).
5.3 Mobile Device Settings
On iOS, go to Settings, Notifications, and find the Skode app to manage permissions. On Android, go to Settings, Apps, Skode, Notifications to manage permissions.
6. Data Collected
When you enable push notifications, we collect and process the following data:
- Push Token: A unique identifier generated by your browser or device that allows us to deliver notifications to your specific device. This token does not contain personal information.
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and device type (desktop, mobile, tablet) to optimize notification delivery and formatting.
- Notification Preferences: Your selected notification categories, quiet hours, and frequency settings.
- Interaction Data: Whether a notification was delivered, displayed, clicked, or dismissed. This data is used to improve notification relevance and timing.
Push notification data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and is retained for the duration of your account plus 30 days after account deletion.
7. Third-Party Services Used
We use the following third-party services to deliver push notifications:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Provided by Google LLC. Used for delivering push notifications to Chrome, Firefox, and Android devices. FCM processes push tokens and notification payloads. Google's privacy policy applies to FCM's processing of data.
- Apple Push Notification Service (APNs): Provided by Apple Inc. Used for delivering push notifications to Safari and iOS devices. Apple's privacy policy applies to APNs' processing of data.
Notification content is encrypted in transit. We minimize the data included in notification payloads and avoid including sensitive personal data in push notification content where possible.
8. UK PECR Compliance
For users in the United Kingdom, push notifications comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). Marketing push notifications require prior consent obtained through a clear opt-in mechanism. Transactional and service notifications are sent based on our legitimate interest in providing the service you have subscribed to. You can withdraw consent at any time as described in Section 5.
9. GDPR Compliance
For users in the European Economic Area, push notifications comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The lawful basis for processing push notification data is:
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)): For marketing push notifications, processed based on your explicit opt-in consent.
- Legitimate Interest (Article 6(1)(f)): For system alerts and activity notifications that are necessary for the proper functioning of the service you have subscribed to. We have conducted a Legitimate Interests Assessment to balance our interests against your rights.
- Contract Performance (Article 6(1)(b)): For notifications that are necessary to deliver the services you have contracted for (e.g., task reminders, deal notifications).
